Finance There are many ways of financing a second-hand boat.

1 - Credit.
This is the most common scenario for transactions between individuals. As for a fixed asset, do not hesitate to appeal to several financing organisations so as to be able to compare the offers you receive.

2 - Leasing.
Under certain conditions, the financing organisation will purchase the boat and lease it to you, hence the term Hire Purchase Option. The leasing principle lies in the fact that the financing organisation will apply a reduced VAT rate on your monthly rentals. Within the framework of transactions between individuals, the most common scenario is to sell or buy a boat which is already financed under a leasing arrangement, and to request to the financial organisation to change the leaseholder.

Insurance We cannot stress enough our recommendation that you do not neglect this step.
It is the way in which you can have a technical and visual report drawn up by a professional. It is his job to give you a "photograph" of the condition of the boat at any given time. Remember that most insurance companies will request that you provide an expert valuation of your boat.

Appraisal Once again, we recommend that you do not neglect this step.
An accident on a boat often leads to substantial expenses. Take the time to read the proposals made to you very carefully so as to take out a contract that is well suited to your schedule and navigation area.

Transport There are two possibilities :

- Transport by sea, also known as ferry flight.
- Transport by road, on a lorry.

These two modes of transport both have advantages, depending on the distance and time allowed to get your boat to its destination.

Outfitting A second-hand boat is always a compromise between the model, year, price and equipment.
It is up to you to kit it out according to your schedule and your wishes!
